Vennstadt is an abstract three-dimensional piece crafted of steel and exotic wood veneers. The rigidly geometric shapes combine to form a unified whole representing an urban plan or diagram, with pieces intersecting to reveal areas that are shared spaces. The warm exotic woods take the hard edge off the work and lend it a pleasurable more human sensibility. Woods used in Vennstadt are Wenge, IPE, Etimoe, Pearwood, Rosewood, Maple Ambrosia, English Sycamore, American Hickory, and Black Walnut.
